Residential Design Consultation on-site (within our service area):

If you just need ideas and Scott Cohen's expertise, he will walk your property with you, discuss options and ideas for improvements at $250 per hour ($250 minimum). During site visits Scott will sometimes create doodles and quick sketches included in the design consultation fee. 

If you are interested in Scott designing your project for The Green Scene to build, consultation fees are typically waived. When more detailed plans are required for proposals, Scott will quote a “Design Retainer” to prepare scaled drawings. Design Retainers and consultation fees are usually credited toward construction projects.

The consultation fee is also waived in local new construction developments.

Telephone Consultation

If you want to know how we built something you saw on our web site or HGTV, and what materials we used, you can schedule a telephone consultation with Scott Cohen. Mr Cohen offers telephone consultations at $150 for 30 minutes, or $250 for 1 hour. Please call our office to schedule a telephone consultation. Your credit card information will be required at the time of scheduling.

Residential Design Consultation on-site (outside service area):

Same as above, except the fee will not be waived in new construction developments, plus travel reimbursement at $250/hour.

Traveling Design Consultation On-site:

Scott Cohen likes to stay close to his home, wife, and three adorable children and rarely travels for work. On occasion, for specialty projects that require his personal touch and flare for design he will take to flight.  All travel consultations are billed daily for on-site and travel time.  One day of travel to site, plus days on site and one full day return.

$2,000 per day plus air and hotel reimbursement.  ($6,000 minimum)

On-Line Design Consultation:

You can consult with Scott on-line via phone and peer-to-peer desktop services. Choose from one of two options:

1. Hourly - Custom Design and Construction Plans with Perspective Drawings.
   Client Emails our office with digital images of their property and a scaled plot map.  A Green Scene  “Design Assistant” will load the base map you provide into our Landscape Design software and an appointment will be scheduled to review ideas with Scott personally. We will create color perspectives and construction plans.
   $250 per hour for Scott Cohen, plus $75/hour Design Assistant and $120/hr for Garden Illustrations.  Printing and shipping fees may also apply – see below. $500 minimum fee.

2. Flat Rate Custom Design
   Client Emails our office with digital images of their property and a scaled plot map. A Green Scene  “Design Assistant” will load the base map you provide into our Landscape Design software and an appointment will be scheduled to review ideas with Scott personally.

Trade Professional Consultation:

Scott Cohen will share with you his secrets of success, including design technique, construction process, and marketing programs.  Prices vary based on the amount and level of information required.  Call for information.

Public Speaking Engagements and Seminars:

Scott Cohen is available for public speaking engagements and seminars to share his 15 years of expertise designing and building pools, spas, concrete countertops, fiber optic concrete counters, pavilions, outdoor kitchens, outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, and other fire features, ponds, waterfalls, and more! Prices vary based on the amount and level of information required. Call for information about scheduling Scott to speak at your event. Topics include:

Construction Defect Consultation  & Testifying ($750 minimum)

Industry Expert Scott Cohen will serve as your expert witness for Construction Defects.  Cohen is an absolute champion for integrity in the construction trade and works regularly with the California State Contractor’s License Board to perform on-site consultations.  Standard fees are $350 per hour plus travel reimbursement at $.50/mile.

* CSLB and Better Business Bureau receive a 50% Discount off these published rates as a professional courtesy.

For example; Site Inspection:  $250 minimum billed at $125/hr.   Allow a minimum one hour for each complaint item on your list.

Testifying:  $499 minimum billed at $175/hr

Due to this discounted rate, Mr. Cohen will be available for only 2 Industry Expert Program inspections per month.
