Multi-Tiered Stone and Tile Backyard Retreat
This remodeled swimming pool and spa used to be raised on the slope side, with no spa. Scott Cohen redesigned the swimming pool to take advantage of the views by creating a vanishing edge spilling away from the house and a lower seating area on the view side but which does not obstruct the views from the house. The swimming pool is flanked with fire bowls and includes a Baja shelf and raised tiled spa with built-in tiled cocktail table. The shallow Baja shelf area includes a Shower of Diamonds fountain. The patio areas are a combination of stamped concrete and Sweetwater flagstone. A custom fireplace anchors the swimming pool on one side. On the other side, the outdoor dining room is adjacent to the spa and outdoor kitchen. The outdoor kitchen has a tiled backsplash and a cast-in-place concrete countertop with embedded glass chips and fiber optic lighting. The bridge leading from the outdoor living room to the dining room is cast-in-place concrete, stamped and stained to look like wood. The lower seating area is flanked by raised concrete pavers and a shallow pool adjacent to the spillway. A Sweetwater flagstone seating area looks out over the swimming pool and lower seating area, taking advantage of the views beyond.
